Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Software Engineer co-op eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to our dynamic software team within the Programmable Solutions Group. In this hands-on role, you’ll support Linux based software products that power Mercury's next generation of embedded high-performance computer modules.
Job Responsibilities:

Develop test automation for software products

Diagnose and resolve identified quality-related bugs

Perform unit testing for newly implemented features

Create and review user-facing documentation

Maintain an inventory of test equipment

Provide support and assistance to team members as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in either computer engineering or computer science or a related technical discipline
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
- Familiarity with a modern scripting language, like Python
- Experience with software written in the 'C' language
- Experience with Linux development environments and tools
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as GIT/BitBucket for version control
- Familiarity with modern AI coding assistants and agentic development tools (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Cline, Opencode).
