We are seeking two experienced Laboratory Technicians to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician will perform hands-on technical work to support multiple active research and production projects.
This role requires precision, reliability, and a solid understanding of aseptic technique and laboratory best practices.
You’ll work full-time on-site as an independent contractor, reporting daily to the lab, executing established protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures under aseptic conditions.
- Perform routine culture work: seeding, passaging, viability counts, and cryopreservation.
- Prepare and label media, buffers, and reagents.
- Operate, clean, and maintain lab equipment (biosafety cabinets, CO₂ incubators, centrifuges, pipettes).
- Maintain accurate logs for culture work, media prep, and equipment use.
- Track and organize consumables, reagents, and supplies.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety and OSHA requirements.
- Support assay preparation, sample management, and general lab upkeep.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and project leads regarding workflow and culture status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on cell culture experience (academic or industry).
- Proficient in aseptic technique and biosafety practices (BSL-2 preferred).
- Experience preparing media, reagents, and maintaining lab instruments.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Contract Details
- Full-time, on-site position (typically 40 hours per week).
- Independent Contractor Status: This position is 1099-based and does not include company benefits.
- Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
- Contract renewal and performance-based rate adjustments available.
