JOB OVERVIEW:
As the friendly face of our hotel bars, you will also be a helpful host, a local expert, and a proud brand ambassador. Whether you are preparing drinks exactly as our guests want or serving them delicious food, you will be devoted to creating relaxing, memorable experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to be on your feet most of the day with lots or bending and kneeling.
- Ability to lift, push and pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to be flexible. Night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
- Knowledgeable on how to prepare a wide range of drinks. Ideally with formal bartending training.
- Meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you will be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language.
- A great communicator, you will be warm welcoming and easy to talk to.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Creating a warm and welcome atmosphere to everyone and setting the tone for each guests experience.
- Prepare and serve drinks to our high standards, and highlight promotions to guests.
- Work with your restaurant colleagues to offer a seamless food and drink service.
- Set up your bar stock up on all supplies you will need, manage your inventory and make sure all equipment works.
- Look after your bar keep it clean and tidy and make sure the alcohol is always secure.
- Handle cash and credit transactions.
- Always follow our safety procedures.
- Be creative, and stay in tune with industry trends and drink specials
- Ensure knowledge of alcohol, wine, and beer pairings and ability to recommend specific drink/food pairings
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining and bar areas by wiping down tables, chairs, counters, walls, bases and windows, vacuuming and sweeping floors, mopping floors, sanitizing menus, clearing dirty dishes, removing spills and ensuring the overall tidiness of the restaurant, often while actively serving customers.
