Rate $21.00/hr or $23.00/hr with the selection of enhanced pay.
Position Summary
This is professional work teaching recreational activities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Recreation Instructor plays a key role in supporting individuals’ physical, social, and emotional development through structured recreational programming and leisure activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain individuals’ gross motor, fine motor, and perceptual motor skills through structured classes and leisure activities
- Conduct assessments to support individualized recreational and therapeutic goals
- Plan, organize, and supervise therapeutic recreational programs
- Use recreation as a tool to teach cooperation, sportsmanship, and fair play
- Provide safe, engaging, and healthful recreational outlets for residents
- Support overall quality of life and well-being through meaningful activity participation

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A Bachelors Degree in Recreation Therapy, Physical Education or other related field
- WSI, Advanced Lifesaving and Adapted Aquatics Instructor Certificate is preferred.
