Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Podcast Producer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of podcast episodes.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about storytelling, audio production, and cultural conversation. The Assistant Producer plays a key role in ensuring episodes are organized, timely, and aligned with MAP’s voice—supporting everything from guest coordination to production logistics.

Key Responsibilities
Production Coordination
- Support planning and scheduling of podcast episodes and recordings
- Assist with guest outreach, confirmations, and coordination
- Prepare run-of-show documents and episode outlines
- Assist in researching topics, themes, and guests
- Support development of episode concepts aligned with MAP’s mission
- Help draft show notes, descriptions, and supporting materials
- Assist during recording sessions (notes, timing, coordination)
- Coordinate with editors on audio files, revisions, and timelines
- Track episode progress from recording to release
- Maintain organized production calendars and content trackers
- Ensure timely follow-ups with guests and team members
- Support documentation and workflow systems for podcast production
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on episode promotion
- Support alignment of podcast content with broader storytelling initiatives
- Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via Google Workspace
Required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in podcasting, storytelling, or media production
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values
- Experience with podcast production, media, or content creation
- Familiarity with audio tools (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition)
- Experience coordinating projects or creative workflows
- Interest in culture, storytelling, and community-based narratives
- Volunteer role
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Fully remote with optional NYC-based collaboration
- Hands-on experience in podcast production and storytelling
- Collaboration with creative leaders, producers, and hosts
- Exposure to end-to-end content production workflows
- Professional references and letters of recommendation
- A meaningful role helping amplify voices and stories that matter
