Duties Description
Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited hospital, is recruiting a Psychiatrist 3, Director of Outpatient Psychiatry to provide clinical and administrative oversight of medical staff assigned to outpatient programs and clinics located in Butler, Lancaster, North Tonawanda, Lakeside, and Zoar.
The Director of Outpatient Psychiatry will directly supervise all outpatient psychiatry providers at BPC’s five outpatient clinics and Assertive Care Treatment (ACT) team to ensure treatment programs align with the clinical mission of patient-centered care at BPC. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Providing clinical and administrative supervision, evaluation, and development of outpatient medical staff including Psychiatrists and Nurse Practitioners.
• Collaborating with BPC leadership in the development and support of clinical programs, policies, and initiatives.
• Coordinating training and supervision of resident physicians, medical students, APP students, and fellows with the Medical Education Site Director.
• Providing consultation to outpatient providers and residential services and coordinating patient care with the Inpatient Director of Psychiatry.
• Overseeing the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff and ensuring compliance with OMH standards.
• Conducting case reviews, providing treatment recommendations and second opinions, participating in treatment planning, and providing direct clinical care to patients as needed.
• Participating in Administrator-On-Call coverage.
• Assisting with recruitment, retention of outpatient providers.

Minimum Qualifications
• Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; and
• Certification in psychiatry by the ABPN; and
• Two (2) years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one (1) year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.
