Intake Coordinator
Role & Responsibilities: Facilitates patient referrals, ensuring timely review and dissemination of information. Engages with diverse patient populations, provides clear treatment instructions, involves families, and responds to physical, psychological, cultural, or behavioral health needs. Manages intake processes by accepting demographics, clinical, and payer info, maintaining referral tracking systems, and monitoring progress from receipt to final disposition. Documents referral data, decisions, and communication in systems like MIDAS and Excel. Acts as a central communication resource, coordinating between medical teams and bed management, and responding to inquiries. Ensures insurance verification and refers self-pay cases to finance. Performs treatments, administers medications, and recognizes signs of abuse or neglect.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication, organizational, and data management skills are essential.
