Summary: Part Time. You will work daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours serving participants in office-based, home-based, and community-based settings. Duties include but are not limited to: serve participants in Genesee, and Orleans Counties and possibly in Niagara County if assigned Medicaid Managed Care participants. Assist participants to develop a self-focused recovery plan; help participants achieve a more empowered and integrated community life; submit receipts for all financial transactions; provide on-site and off-site group activities promoting community integration and social self-management skills; schedule and/or provide intakes, individual services, and participant transportation; maintain accurate program documentation; proactively communicate at least weekly with supervisor regarding all aspects of program activities including but not limited to financial, participant, incident, and program review issues; abide by agency Personnel and HIPAA policies; other duties as assigned. Supervised and evaluated by the Peer Recovery Director and a Clinical Supervisor if assigned Medicaid Managed Care participants.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer two (2) years relevant experience (in mental health related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess competent computer skills. Current certification or willingness to become a Certified Peer Specialist through the Academy of Peer Services is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Substance use disorders a plus. Courteous customer skills. Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal format. Working knowledge of Niagara, Genesee, and Orleans County mental health and community resources. Clean and current New York State driver’s license with 3 years’ driving experience and willingness to drive larger vehicle required.
