Duties
- Diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliances to ensure peak operation.
- Install new HVAC equipment following detailed specifications and HVAC design plans.
- Conduct system inspections to identify issues with electrical components, wiring, motors, compressors, and controls.
- Use tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuits and perform repairs or modifications.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Experience
- Proven field service experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and property maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC/R systems (including refrigeration), plumbing, and appliance repair.
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems or HVAC/R equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform equipment repair including welding tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, pumps, ductwork, and other mechanical components involved in heating and cooling systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving
