Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing staff to assure the efficient purchasing needs of the Health System.
- Promoting a business environment that maximizes the use of technology toward leading practices, greatest efficiency, productivity, and high quality databases.
- Researching and evaluating alternate supplies, suppliers and equipment.
- Authorizing purchases within budgetary limits, awards purchase orders, and approves exception invoices for payment.
- Responsible for training and staff development to ensure business process adherence and identification of leading practice.
- Acting as liaison with the Supply Organization to support a holistic approach for Procure to Pay Solutions.
- Consistently observing and fostering mandatory confidentiality relating to sensitive business or patient-related material/information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the daily operations of the Purchasing buyer team in a professional and efficient manner ensuring compliance with all MHS policies, procedures and MHS contracts, and contracting strategy.
- Accountable to ensure the Buyer team performs with demonstrated skill capability and capacity to meet MHS procurement demand needs within target accuracy and efficiency tolerances.
- Exhibiting advanced expertise with MMIS application procurement workflow, GPO and local contracting, MHS policy and contracting strategy, and other procurement and materials-related functions.
- Key performance and behavior indicators are effectively monitored and adjusted to meet target outcomes.
- Purchasing workflow integrity consistently monitored; demonstrated active and efficient effective root-cause analysis and problem solving is facilitated with the team.
- Demonstrated competency to perform the buying functions for any/all department supply and service procurement needs.
- In collaboration with Executive Director, staffing and/or expense budget is created, monitored and supported throughout the fiscal year.
- Evaluating and authors Purchasing business process, effectiveness and accuracy ensuring consistent adherence by responsible parties.
- Manages supply disruptions to ensure available product.

Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Seven years of relevant knowledge and experience with healthcare purchasing, materials, finance and contracting; includes experience managing one or more teams.
- Expert level proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and other office applications.
- Demonstrated portfolio of experience with logical thinking, problem-solving skills and project management.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business law, math or statistics required.
