This position is responsible for following established procedures and protocols in a busy orthopedic spine clinic setting. The X-Ray Technologist / Medical Assistant performs diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of spine and musculoskeletal conditions and provides clinical support to providers, including rooming patients, assisting with exams, and basic administrative tasks. The scope of the position includes explaining procedures to patients, accurately operating all imaging equipment, demonstrating clinical and age-specific competencies, and selecting accurate technical factors for optimal image quality while maintaining radiation safety. The position also supports clinic flow through medical assistant duties such as obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic health record (EHR), and assisting with minor procedures as allowed by scope of practice.
