What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor - Driftwood Engineering - FT - Days position at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport?
Responsible for supervising, inspecting, and scheduling the repairs and maintenance of the physical structure of the facility including all furniture and equipment and to make periodic reports concerning problems to administration. Oversees transportation and environmental services.
- Maintains the safe operations of water, electrical lighting, heating, air conditioning, sewage disposal, and fire alarm systems and maintains the delivery systems for each of these in a safe operating manner.
- Maintains the building and ensures that equipment used is safe and operable and that all safety factors are adhered to and safety regulations are met
- Inspects, services, and performs minor repairs on air conditioners, heaters, electrical system, hand rails, wall guards, and general carpentry work.
- Services and performs minor repairs on auxiliary power unit.
- Checks and maintains the fire alarm system and fire extinguishers.
- Inspects, repairs and schedules preventive maintenance on facility equipment.
- Oversees the daily operations of maintenance, environmental services, transportation, and staff.
- Coordinates department activities to ensure operation within budgeted parameters.
- Monitors and adjusts staffing and workload as appropriate.
- Assists with interviews, hires, and employment actions.
- Coaches team members in accountability and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Assists in performance appraisal process for staff.
- Oversees department programs and initiatives to assure compliance, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
- Provides assistance to team members as requested or required.
- Regular and timely attendance is required for this job.
- Participates on committees/councils and performance improvement activities as requested/required.
- Successful completion of probation and annual skills/competency requirements.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: None.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanics.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: The ability to perform and lead electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance at a skilled level with no supervision. Excellent time-management and organization skills. Ability to work independently as well as lead a team.
