Director of Nursing - Driftwood Nursing Center - FT

The Director of Nursing leads and directs the overall nursing operation of the nursing center in accordance with residents' needs, government regulations, and company policies so as to maintain excellent care for the residents while achieving the business objectives.

• Works with the nursing management staff, administrator, and consultants in planning all aspects of the nursing operation, including setting priorities and job assignments.
  • Maintains the required staffing ratio in order to provide quality of care.
  • Conducts regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care, effective coordination with other support services.
  • Coordinates nursing services with all other resident care services to assure the smooth integration of an interdisciplinary approach to quality resident care.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and ensures compliance with all governmental regulations.
  • Supervises, conducts, and participates in facility education activities and staff meetings. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education programs, seminars, and training programs.
• Provides essential management functions to assure effective day-to-day operations.
  • Budgets within parameters.
  • Monitors and adjusts staffing and workload as appropriate.
  • Conducts interviews, hires and employment actions.
  • Coaches team members and leads the team toward improvement.
  • Adheres to the performance appraisal process.
  • Oversees department programs and initiatives to assure compliance, optimization and continuous improvement.

Education:

• Associate's Degree: Graduate from an accredited, state-approved school of nursing

Experience:

• 5 years of clinical nursing experience with three (3) years in a leadership role
