Qualifications:

Education:

· Master's degree is preferred in business, public relations, marketing or a field related to fund development.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

 

Experience:

· Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position related to fund development or equivalent

role required. Progression of increasing responsibility required.

· Minimum of five years of experience in successful fund development with not-for-profit organizations

required. Health care experience and agricultural knowledge preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Highly developed interpersonal skills, influence building, and relationship building skills. Proven ability to

work with a broad range of people in diverse settings.

· Exceptional listening skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated competency in

delivering presentations.

· Significant experience in leading individuals and groups in the design, implementation, execution and

analysis of complex projects.

· Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workforce, handle frequent interruptions, set priorities, and adapt

to changes in workload.

· Demonstrated ability to evaluate and measure the quantitative and qualitative impact of fund development

programs and events, make data-based decisions, and make appropriate recommendations based upon

feedback.

· Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and leadership from front line employees to front

line managers to senior level executives.

· Demonstrated proficiency with computer and technical skills with reporting and presentation tools utilizing

Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight through planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program for the Jacksonville Memorial Foundation.

 

2. Builds and maintains a cohesive team. Builds trust and fosters collaboration and communication with all members of the team. Provides leadership, direction and support for all members of the team, and coaches and develops team members to their fullest potential, providing learning opportunities as needed. Hires, retains, and annually evaluates the performance of members of the team.

 

3. Supports the overall mission and strategic direction of Memorial Health by ensuring the vision, values, and strategic plan are cascaded into the work of the Foundation, in support of achieving the organizational goals and intended outcomes.

 

4. Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the annual employee giving program.

6. Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for major and planned giving programs, and the Gift of Remembrance program.

 

7. Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for fund raising programs and campaigns for new facilities, equipment, and other major funding needs through annual and planned gifts.

 

8. Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the annual grant award program.

 

9. Evaluates fund development activities and programs to determine if they are accomplishing stated objectives and desired results.

 

10. Coordinates the development and utilization of the Foundation's annual business and operating plans, provides leadership to direct reports and informs members of the Foundation Board of Directors regarding staffing, capital, and operating budgets for Foundation. Ensure preservation and enhancement of the organization's assets and resources.

 

11. Directs and participates in the identification, research and cultivation of current and prospective donors. Ensures appropriate maintenance of donor and prospect records.

 

12. Develops cohesive relationships with each member of the Foundation Board of Directors. Responsible for completing new Board of Directors orientation and continuing education programs. Responsible for assisting the chairman of the Foundation Board of Directors and the Nominating Committee chairman in identifying, developing, and recruiting new members.

 

13. In cooperation with the marketing team orchestrates the development and distribution of fund development internal and external printed and electronic materials; including social media, brochures, annual reports, newsletters, planned giving materials, solicitation letters and information materials. Guides and directs all recognition of donors.

 

14. Provides leadership for systematically integrating and evaluating the fund development programs and processes across the health system in order to promote communication, economies of scale, and common utilization of resources throughout the various foundations of the health system. Seek out and drive fund development "best practices" throughout the various foundations of the health system in order to promote cycles of learning within the organization. Monitor quality and effectiveness of these processes.

 

15. Forges relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to members of the MH System Leadership Team, strategic business partners, vendors, potential sponsors, and donors.

 

16. Advises the system's administration on the implications and impact of various policies and practices as they relate to philanthropy. Serves as a resource person and subject matter expert to the organization on matters related to philanthropy and fund development. Identifies the potential need for appropriate professional counsel related to philanthropy and fund development.

 

17. Participates in and encourages employees to be involved with activities of local civic organizations whose programs and activities increase awareness of Memorial's mission, vision and values, and which might strengthen or support the Foundation.

 

18. Actively participates as a contributing member of the JMH Operations Management Team as requested.

 

19. Develops annual departmental and personal goals consistent with Memorial Health’s strategic planning process, directs employees to work towards accomplishment of the goals, removes barriers, provides resources, and monitors the status of goal achievement.

 

20. Serves as resource person on committees, task forces, meetings, and activities to assist the health system achievement of strategic objectives.

 

21. Supervises all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance monitoring, performance coaching, and ongoing engagement to ensure effective placement and retention across hospital departments.

 

22. Provides guidance and administrative support for the JMH Auxiliary and management of the Gift Shop.

 

23. Responsible for the Jacksonville Memorial Hospital archival materials.

 

24. Maintains professional growth and development through continuing education, seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.

 

25. Serves as a liaison to the Farm Advisory Committee, farm managers, and hospital administrators with oversight of the donated farms.

 

26. Performs other related work as required or requested.
