Job Description
Essential Functions:
--Clean equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas for the
purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions.
--Evaluate prepared food for temperature, flavor and appearance.
--Inspect food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality
and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
--Inventory food and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items
required for meeting projected menu requirements and report shortages to the
Kitchen Manager.
--Maintain records and reports (i.e. counting and recording the number of leftovers,
equipment temp logs and other HACCP logs).
--Help and assist other workers with joint tasks when other assigned tasks are
completed.
--Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and established food
preparation procedures to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal
requirements.
--Check in orders and ensure all food items are received in good condition and in
temperature guidelines.
--Work in a kitchen with a rotating schedule so that all facets of kitchen
assignments including dishwashing and register duties are learned.
--Willing to cover shifts, as needed, throughout the district kitchens.
