Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Construction Safety Specialist for our data center project. This role supports the implementation of the company’s safety program to help maintain a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure Company safety policies and procedures are understood by employees and implemented consistently company-wide
- Conduct frequent comprehensive on-site safety assessments as part of a constant monitoring process
- Documents all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensures corrective measures are immediately implemented; follow through to ensure corrections have been made
- Educates project personnel through “on the spot” training and Tool Box Safety Talks
- Completes accident reporting and investigation, as needed; may provide transportation to an injured worker in need of medical attention
- Issue and inventory PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed
- Provide assistance to all project employees regarding the safety practices required on the project and by the Company
- Maintain organized safety and jobsite files and records
- Communicate frequently with Superintendents, Foreman and craft workers regarding their good safety practices as well as those in need of improvement
- Participate in department and project meetings as needed
- Perform data entry as needed and other recordkeeping tasks including, but not limited to, filing and paperwork completion
- Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values and goals
- Perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s safety policies
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
Essential Skills and Experience:
- OSHA 30 Hour
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willing and able to commute to client representatives and regional offices as needed
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the field of construction as a Safety and Health professional
- Ability to work up to 45 hours or more per week
Schedule:
- Day shift and some early mornings
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Construction Experience: 5 years (Preferred) 3 years (Required)
- OSHA: 1 year (Preferred)
Language:
- Bilingual (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- OSHA 30 (Required)
- OSHA 510 (Preferred)
