Job Title: Flooring Installer / Flooring Technician
Location: Raymondville, Lyford, Brownsville, TX (jobsite may vary)
Job Type: Full-Time / Project-Based
Pay: $13-15 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Description:
MEMCO is seeking 2–5 experienced Flooring Installers for upcoming commercial and government projects across South Texas. Candidates must have experience installing a variety of flooring materials including tile, vinyl, carpet, and laminate/LVP.
These projects require attention to detail, quality workmanship, and the ability to work in secure jobsite environments.
Responsibilities:
- Install flooring materials including:
- Tile (ceramic, porcelain, stone)
- Vinyl (LVP/LVT, VCT)
- Carpet
- Laminate flooring
- Measure, cut, and prepare flooring materials
- Prepare subfloors (cleaning, leveling, patching as needed)
- Follow layout plans, blueprints, or project specifications
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and finish quality
- Perform demolition/removal of existing flooring when required
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Work efficiently to meet project deadlines
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of flooring installation experience
- Experience with commercial or government projects preferred
- Must have own tools (tile saw, cutters, knee pads, hand tools, etc.)
- Ability to read measurements and layouts
- Reliable transportation to various job sites
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on knees for extended periods
- Must pass a clean background check (required for government projects)
- Must follow all jobsite safety requirements and PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VCT, LVP/LVT, and carpet tile installation
- Experience working on schools, public buildings, or federal projects
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
