Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to preparing high-quality beverages. The Barista will be responsible for operating a fast-paced coffee shop, interacting with customers, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Duties

- Prepare specialty coffee drinks to the highest standard, including espresso-based drinks and manual pour-overs.
- Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and gift cards

- Utilize provided operating guides and recipe books to ensure cleanliness and consistency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and handling guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer concerns and building loyalty.
- Develop knowledge of our menu and make recommendations to customers.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
- Handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of retail math and apply it to cash handling and inventory management.
- Utilize a café POS system, such as Square POS, to manage orders and transactions.

Qualifications

- Prior experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions.
- Familiarity with a café POS system, such as Square POS.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
