This is a part-time position with a fixed weekly schedule:
- Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Friday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Position Summary
The Budtender's primary responsibility is to facilitate retail sales transactions while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as an educator, guide, and trusted resource for customers while ensuring compliance with all company policies and Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission regulations.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, sales-driven, and passionate about the cannabis industry. They will assist customers with product selection, process transactions, maintain accurate records, support inventory management, and contribute to a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Service & Facility Upkeep
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
- Assist first-time customers with orientations and dispensary education.
- Work closely with reception and line coordination staff to maintain customer flow and minimize wait times.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, compliments, and feedback.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dispensary environment.
- Monitor product quality and appearance, including identifying expired, damaged, or defective products.
Sales & Transaction Processing
- Accurately package customer orders while ensuring proper labeling, weights, and discounts are applied.
- Process cash, debit, and other approved payment methods.
- Maintain accurate customer records and preferences within the POS system.
- Keep workstations and cashier areas organized and clean.
Cannabis Education & Customer Guidance
- Maintain a strong understanding of available products, strains, consumption methods, and promotions.
- Educate customers on product options, effects, consumption methods, and responsible use.
- Provide educational resources and answer customer questions with professionalism and accuracy.
- Stay informed of applicable state regulations and company policies.
Inventory, Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
- Communicate inventory concerns and product demand trends to leadership.
- Assist with menu updates and inventory-related tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with Team Leads and Management to improve customer experience and sales performance.
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Maintain a continuous state of awareness regarding customer, employee, and facility safety.
- Follow all company policies, security procedures, and CCC regulations.
- Support compliance initiatives and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive business information.
- Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently and professionally.

QualificationsRequired
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Minimum one (1) year of retail sales or customer service experience.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Cannabis industry experience.
- Experience with METRC.
- Experience with POS systems.
- Retail, hospitality, pharmaceutical, or service industry experience.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent walking, reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with retail operations.
- Ability to maintain visual focus and awareness in a busy retail environment.
