Duties
- Lead the mechanical design process from concept through detailed development using advanced CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo.
- Develop comprehensive mechanical schematics, drawings, and 3D models for product prototypes and manufacturing.
- Perform tolerance analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and simulations to validate design integrity under operational conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing specialists, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of system components.
- Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or issues during testing phases and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of engineering projects.
- Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and building information modeling (BIM) tools to maintain high-quality design outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on mechanical product development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and drafting tools for mechanical detail drawings.
- Expertise in 3D modeling for product design, tolerance analysis, FEA simulations, and schematic creation.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, Arduino, and CNC machining processes.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles including machine design, system design, and mechanical knowledge across various applications.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with diverse teams effectively.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions promptly during project execution.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and engineering product development methodologies.
