Mel's Auto Body is seeking an experienced Collision Repair Technician to join our growing team in Rapid City. Compensation

Commission-Based Pay

Expected Annual Earnings: $75,000 – $130,000

Top-performing technicians have the opportunity to exceed these earnings based on productivity, efficiency, and quality workmanship.

What You'll Do

• Complete structural and non-structural collision repairs using OEM repair procedures and industry best practices.
• Repair or replace damaged body panels, components, and vehicle structures to manufacturer specifications.
• Review repair plans and follow OEM repair documentation to ensure safe, accurate repairs.
• Perform vehicle disassembly and reassembly throughout the repair process.
• Inspect repairs at each stage to maintain the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
• Assist with damage analysis, repair verification, and final quality inspections before vehicle delivery.
• Work closely with estimators, refinish technicians, and other production team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment while properly caring for shop equipment and tools.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of five years of professional collision repair experience.
• Strong understanding of modern vehicle construction, structural repairs, and OEM repair procedures.
• Ability to produce high-quality repairs in a fast-paced production environment.
• I-CAR Platinum certification preferred.
• Current welding certifications preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable work ethic, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
