Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance options clearly, ensuring customers are well-informed
- Prepare accurate auto estimates and service writing documentation for technicians and management
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission diagnostics to maximize customer satisfaction and shop productivity
- Coordinate with mechanics and technicians to prioritize repairs, track progress, and ensure timely completion of services
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and manage service-related paperwork diligently
- Maintain comprehensive records of all customer interactions, service orders, and vehicle histories
Requirements
- Proven dealership or automotive service management experience with a strong understanding of auto repair procedures
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, air brakes, suspension, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Mechanical knowledge combined with mechanic experience or service technician background is a plus
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes including alignment, vehicle maintenance schedules, and automobile sales is advantageous
