Sander / Masker / Taper — Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Sander, Masker, and Taper to join our automotive paint and body team.
Responsibilities
- Sand vehicles and body panels to prepare surfaces for paint
- Mask and tape vehicles accurately before entering the paint booth
- Cover and protect glass, trim, wheels, lights, and other areas from overspray
- Prep repaired and primed areas for final paint application
- Identify surface imperfections that need additional attention
- Remove masking materials after paint when needed
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Work with painters and body technicians to keep vehicles moving through production
- Follow shop safety procedures and quality standards
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications
- Automotive sanding, masking, or paint-prep experience preferred
- Knowledge of sandpaper grits and proper surface-preparation techniques
- Ability to properly mask body lines, jambs, trim, and other vehicle areas
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and good work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Able to stand, bend, lift, and work around vehicles throughout the day
