Are you ready to join a growing company? As the Controller, you will play a key role on our finance team by looking at financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Duties include directing accounting team and department operations, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting. Ensure that internal controls are in place to protect assets, ensure the integrity of our financial statements, and facilitate the effective operation of all business functions.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Experience: 7-10 years in a finance role, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Skills: Proficiency in Office 365, Google Suite, McLeod, NetSuite and tracking software. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Expand: Manage all general accounting operations to include billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
- Relationship Builder: Manage staff by overseeing activities to ensure the accurate and timely management of billing.
- Operational Excellence: Perform monthly financial close functions and statement preparation.
- Innovative Solutions: Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Cost Management: Post accruals monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Oversee payroll processing and accuracy. Manage account reconciliation process. Reconciliation of banking. Forecast cash flow. Plan and participate in annual financial budget process.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use your analytical skills to dive deep into performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that our operations comply with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining our integrity and operational excellence.
- Team Development: Coach and develop a team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.

- Experienced Leader: You have 5-10 years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Staff Accountant.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- The ability to climb stairs.
