Position Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, predicting, and managing the technical tasks of assigned projects to align work scope, resources, and job quality. Reviews project proposals and plans, identify project phases and milestones, and review job specifications. Coordinates hands-on work necessary at the job site or in the field. Monitor compliance to applicable regulations, job and/or customer specifications; serve as point of contact for employees, clients, and customers in the field.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
This is very physical, hands-on work. A Project Engineer must be able to perform General Physical Activities — activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling or moving of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work off the ground at varying heights, and not be affected by moving machinery or parts. Willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Document job-specific received items to be placed at the work or job site (generators, electrical switchgear, chillers, etc.) and associated items, equipment, and gear.
- Manage RFIs (request for information) and COs (certificate of occupancy) as required.
- Document and submit rigging inspections, JHAs (job hazard analysis), PTPs (pre-task plan), equipment inspections, and maintenance records.
- Participate and contribute to all required meetings designated by the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure field teams have needed materials.
- Compile project billing and present to Project Manager monthly.
- Scan and store digital blueprints and schematics for quick retrieval.
- Ensure all necessary field records and logs are kept timely and accurately.
- Ensure changes are accurately posted to budget and other job tracking systems.
- Coordinate with various team members for accurate and timely recording of project costs, including timesheets, and daily report generation.
- Ability to visit job sites and/or onsite offices daily.
- Organize and inventory onsite storage and rigging needs through collaboration with site foremen.
- Generate daily and/or weekly reports for tracked items (Job Tracker, COs, POs, etc.) for PM.
- Perform all other duties as necessary and directed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years’ experience providing project support with construction-related projects.
- Two (2) years’ experience using a Windows-based computer and working with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to professionally interface with clients or customers in the field.
- Familiar with the variety of project concepts, practices, procedures, and risks.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); able to foster positive work relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly self-directed and self-motivated; works effectively on a team or independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to regularly participate and contribute to department and team meetings.
- Ability to read and interpret sets of data and plans including schematics, technical manuals, or blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license necessary.
- Ability to travel to local job or work sites as required.
