- Lead the systems engineering lifecycle for electrical subsystems, including requirements definition, architecture development, design integration, and verification.
- Develop and maintain electrical requirements, power budgets, and interface definitions, ensuring traceability to mission and system-level needs.
- Perform trade studies to evaluate electrical system architectures (e.g., power generation, storage, and distribution approaches).
- Define and execute verification & validation (V&V) plans, including functional, environmental, and electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing.
- Design and analyze electrical systems, including: Power and convertor systems (power distribution units on backplanes and subsystem units) , Avionics systems (command and data handling, communication interfaces) , Harnessing, grounding, and shielding schemes
- Perform electrical modeling and simulation using tools such as KiCad, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Evaluate spaceflight electrical environments, including radiation effects, charging, and electromagnetic interference.
- Conduct steady-state and transient electrical analyses, including load flow, fault protection, and power quality assessments.
- Support assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities with a focus on electrical hardware and system interfaces.
- Plan and execute electrical integration testing, functional testing, and environmental testing (including EMI/EMC and thermal vacuum support).
- Analyze test data and correlate models to ensure predictive accuracy and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot electrical anomalies and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation related to electrical system performance and reliability.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, including: Electrical System Designs, Power Budgets, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Design Review packages (PDR, CDR, TRR).
