department.
Job Summary
The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing and accurately assigning CPT, ICD-10, and
HCPCS codes for multi-specialty services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory
guidelines. Experience in Podiatry and Dermatology coding is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and
HCPCS codes.
Ensure coding accuracy for claims submission and reimbursement compliance.
Work closely with providers to clarify documentation and coding questions.
Maintain current knowledge of coding and billing regulations, payer guidelines, and
compliance requirements.
Assist with claim edits, denials, and re-submissions when coding-related issues arise.
Support audit processes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Certified Professional Coder (CPC, COC, or equivalent) required.
Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience in a multi-specialty or clinic setting.
Experience in Podiatry and Dermatology coding preferred.
Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
Familiarity with E/M coding guidelines (2025 updates).
Proficiency with EHR and billing systems.
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
