- 8 years as a Data Warehouse Engineer or DBA.
- 3 years of hands-on BigQuery administration in production.
- Map Teradata DDLs and data types to BigQuery-optimized partitioning and clustering schemas.
- Refactor legacy Teradata BTEQ scripts and SQL logic into BigQuery Standard SQL and stored procedures.
- Optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads.
- Configure BigQuery Slot Reservations and Workload Management to replicate Teradata capacity.
- Perform data validation, row-count reconciliations, and checksums between Teradata and GCP.
- Establish query guardrails and project-level quotas to manage spend during migration phases.
- Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
- Hands-on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Monitoring/Logging.
- Experience with EDW platform migrations and enterprise-scale data engineering.
- Strong knowledge of IAM, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies.
