Job Summary
The Senior Employee Relations Specialist plays a key role in fostering a positive and compliant workplace by supporting employee relations initiatives across the organization. In collaboration with HR Business Partners, this role manages complex employee issues, conducts investigations, supports organizational changes in Workday, and drives compliance with policies and employment laws. The specialist also contributes to the development of HR strategies and training programs that enhance the employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with HR Business Partners to support employees and managers in areas including escalations, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
- Conduct thorough, objective investigations and recommend appropriate resolution strategies.
- Guide managers through corrective actions and policy adherence, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
- Manage organizational changes in Workday, including supervisory org updates and position changes.
- Address and resolve complex AskHR inquiries and assist with the development of employee relations policies.
- Analyze exit interview data and ER trends to provide actionable insights.
- Lead Workday termination processes, including documentation and severance.
- Deliver training on employee relations best practices for managers and employees.
- Support timely resolution of escalated cases to enhance the employee experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5–8 years of experience in employee relations or a related HR function.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
