I. Position Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Finance team to ensure a smooth, timely month-end close process. This individual provides assistance with SOX compliance and is involved in the annual budgeting process.
II. Essential Functions
- Performs and assists with month-end and quarter-end closing accounting tasks including preparation/input of journal entries ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensures that reconciliations and supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
- Prepares and maintains month-end closing shared folders.
- Preparation and assistance with month-end analytical review of actuals versus budget/forecast.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Provides assistance with SOX compliance by ensuring internal controls are adhered to.
- Provides assistance to Sr. Manager Financial Operations and Accounting on quarter-end inventory close and various analyses.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of four to six years of experience and solid understanding of GAAP. Experience in public accounting preferred.
- Ability to manage a wide range of finance-related responsibilities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines and timelines.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance daily operations and project work in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, and experience with general ledger systems.
