We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Training and Education Specialist, focusing on owning and developing the learning pathway, creating content to ensure customers are knowledgeable on the safe and effective use of Pain Interventions products and therapies. This role will include content creation for Pain Interventions products and therapies that may include, but is not limited to, Spinal Cord Stimulation and indication expansions, Targeted Drug Delivery, Balloon Kyphoplasty, Emprint liver ablation and OsteoCool RF ablation. This position will partner with Faculty, business leaders and medical education/sales training cross-functional partners to drive the education strategy, implement new education practices with expertise while leading across matrixed stakeholder partners. This individual works under the direction of the Pain Interventions Sr. Education/Training Manager.
This role is open to remote within the continental United States.
A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Strongly influence the design of new indication and product launch education plans based on business strategy with a significant focus on functional results
- Design and partner with Medical Education Program Managers on creative and engaging, HCP education programs that are targeted, purposeful, and increase knowledge and skills
- Maintain key opinion leader relationships with special emphasis on identifying and retaining and onboarding clinician faculty of the highest quality, integrity and effectiveness for Medical Education
- Apply Adult Learning Theory and design principles (ADDIE) for all learning and development projects.
- Ensure timely updates to the course curricula to reflect changes in product offerings and market demands.
- Frequently provide guidance and coaching to HCP and MDT Faculty
- Motivate, influence and lead cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives. Anticipate, identify and resolve high-level problems associated with completing projects and executing programs
- Drive innovative education methods across digital and virtual platforms using LMS and authoring tools
- Work in Medtronic systems, including the Med Review, AMP and cvent
- Collaborate with cross functional groups (Product Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Patient and Technical Services, Legal, Quality, Clinical, and Regulatory) to create education programs, curricula, course materials and measurements that support business unit strategies and are compliant with regulatory, quality systems, and Business Conduct Standards.
- Stay abreast of education and development industry research, (e.g. learning theory, motivation theory), and new methods and techniques.
- Demonstrate education effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategy.
- Develop strong and ongoing relationships with sales, marketing and clinician partners by attending education programs, society and congress events as needed.
- Maintain a high level of competency in disease management, and Medtronic device therapy application and related systems through continuous learning (i.e. seminars, self-study, workshops, literature review, etc.).
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Medical Device Industry experience
- Excellent skills in application of the ADDIE model for instructor led and virtual training
- 5 years of experience working with Interventional Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Medicine, Neurosurgery, Endocrinology or other physicians.
- Experience with design, delivery, and evaluation of education across various digital and virtual platforms
- Instructional design experience

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
