Coverage Area: Multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities Throughout Central New York

Compensation: $250,000 – $325,000 per year

Position Overview

MedStaff Group is recruiting an experienced Medical Director / Attending Physician on behalf of a growing healthcare organization providing care throughout multiple skilled nursing facilities in the Cortland and surrounding Central New York region.

This position combines clinical leadership with hands-on patient care and offers the opportunity to oversee medical services across several facilities while working closely with administrators, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams.

We are seeking a physician who is highly clinical, collaborative, and experienced in caring for geriatric and post-acute populations. Candidates with strong Internal Medicine backgrounds and experience in the skilled nursing environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director and Attending Physician across multiple skilled nursing facilities

• Provide primary, post-acute, and long-term care services to residents

• Perform admissions, follow-up visits, annual assessments, and chronic disease management

• Collaborate with nursing leadership, administrators, specialists, and facility staff

• Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts

• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions

• Assist with reducing hospital readmissions and improving patient outcomes

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation within facility EMR systems

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to facility teams

Qualifications

• MD or DO licensed in New York

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine

• Strong Internal Medicine experience required

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, or Geriatric Medicine experience preferred

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Ability to work effectively across multiple facilities

Compensation & Benefits
