Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mammography Technologist to provide both clinical expertise and professional leadership within the Imaging Services department. The Lead Technologist will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring departmental quality and safety standards are maintained.
This position serves as a clinical resource for complex diagnostic cases and helps align patient needs with departmental resources.
Schedule
- 5x8-hour shifts
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- Every 4th Saturday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Full-Time Days
Department & Equipment
- Two mammography rooms at the location
- 3D Hologic mammography equipment
- Daily average volume:
- Approximately 30 screenings
- Approximately 11 diagnostic exams
- Approximately 1–2 biopsies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert mammography care to patients, including complex diagnostic cases.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for the Imaging Services team.
- Provide professional leadership and coordinate daily departmental operations.
- Monitor and maintain high-quality patient care standards.
- Match patient needs with available departmental resources.
- Follow and support interdepartmental and inter-hospital policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines.
- Support risk reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Promote excellent customer service and patient experience.
- Help ensure staff accountability and compliance with quality standards.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practices when appropriate.
- Support the department in maintaining all applicable quality and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Texas Medical Board (MRT) license – Required
- ARRT-R (Registered Radiologic Technologist) – Required
- ARRT-M (Registered Mammography Technologist) – Required
- BLS or ACLS certification – Required
Must-Have Requirements
- Active Texas Medical Board (MRT) license.
- ARRT-R certification/registration.
- ARRT-M certification/registration.
- Minimum 5 years of prior experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory setting.
