The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for pulling orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and verifies. They are keeping accurate records to all materials receive and issued, verifying that materials are delivered to correct departments or properly stored in warehouse, receiving all special items for projects, inspecting and storing until requested for projects, and loading, in a safe manner, all items that are being requested.

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for pulling orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and verifies. They are keeping accurate records to all materials receive and issued, verifying that materials are delivered to correct departments or properly stored in warehouse, receiving all special items for projects, inspecting and storing until requested for projects, and loading, in a safe manner, all items that are being requested.
Responsibilities
- Receives and unloads incoming materials.
- Helps load all material orders that have been pulled for jobs.
- Notes back/ordered items.
- Inspects items according to instructions; reports damaged goods to supervisor; and arranges for any necessary returns.
- Enters receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item number, quantity, price, etc., according to instructions.
- Uses dolly or carries small items to proper department or storage place within warehouse.
- Reconciles computer records with physical inventory according to established schedule.
- Reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Packages orders for out-of-town shipments.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
- Capable of reading instructions from material orders that need to be filled.
- Accurately organize materials in order to maintain clean and neat work areas.
- Keeping all items in safe and orderly storage area until they are requested.
- Keeping warehouse clean and neat.
- Seeing that items requested are loaded safely and timely.
- Advising Warehouse Manager whenever backorders occur.
- Preparing any and all items needing to be shipped out by freight carrier.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to input data on computer to create a daily inventory report.
- Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting and verifying items received.
- Able to operate forklift in safe and professional manner.
- Good communication skills: verbal and written.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Computer proficiency.
- Accurately organize items in order to maintain clean and neat area.
- Good finger dexterity to input data into inventory records.
- A great concern for cleanness.
- Able to have a knowledge of electrical parts and there functions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.
- Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

- Ability to remain calm in times of heightens emotional situations.

- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, craw, and climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock.
- Physical strength to lift up 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
