POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the Reimbursement Manager with patient intake, benefits investigation, prior authorization, and coverage exceptions. Immediate-need contract role, up to 40 hrs/week, minimum 2-month commitment, with potential to convert to full-time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process new patient referrals and maintain accurate records.
- Complete pharmacy and medical benefits investigations.
- Work with payers to obtain and confirm coverage.
- Initiate, submit, and track prior authorizations.
- Prepare exception and appeal materials for manager review.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- HS diploma; 1 years specialty pharmacy experience.
- Strong understanding of health insurance concepts.
- Accurate, detail-oriented data entry.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and payer portals.
- Clear communication and disciplined follow-up.
PREFERRED
- Experience with BI, PA, or hub services; CareTend/Waystar/Availity familiarity.
ENGAGEMENT TERMS
- Up to 40 hrs/week, within pharmacy operating hours.
- Minimum 2-month contract commitment.
- Potential FT conversion based on performance, need, and interest.
- HIPAA/cybersecurity training and background screening required.
