About the Role
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a healthcare organization in Illinois to hire an experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Registered Nurse for a contract assignment.
This role focuses on improving the accuracy, quality, and completeness of clinical documentation to support patient care, compliance, and reimbursement. The CDI RN will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure documentation reflects the severity of illness and level of care provided.
This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong clinical backgrounds and an interest in quality improvement, documentation integrity, and healthcare compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical records to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify documentation
- Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and compliance
- Support quality initiatives related to patient safety and outcomes
- Ensure documentation reflects appropriate severity of illness and risk adjustment
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory and coding guidelines
- Utilize CDI tools and checklists to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Participate in process improvement and change management initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing required
- Minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience required
- Experience participating in clinical quality, patient safety, or related initiatives
- Demonstrated effective change management skills
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation review skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) certification preferred
- Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) experience preferred
- AMC Clinical Documentation Specialty experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in medical/surgical, critical care, ICU, or emergency care preferred
Scheduling & Expectations
- Full-time schedule
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- 30-minute meal break
