Travel Pay: Up to $2800 weekly gross with $1575 nontaxed travel stipend
Travel Reimbursement: Up to $350 each way (to the assignment and back home)!
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to serve as a vital link between pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff. In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical services, design therapeutic initiatives, and act as a primary clinical resource for physicians and nurses. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of pharmacy support staff , manage 340B program compliance , and ensure safe medication dispensing and inventory practices. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, outstanding customer service skills, and the capability to effectively manage resources and resolve complex issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Care Services
- Provides expert clinical services and acts as a central resource for clinical practice issues, patient therapies, and care decisions.
- Accesses and interprets patient-specific information to make sound clinical judgments across a diverse patient population, spanning neonates to older adults.
- Produces clinical recommendations, reviews current programs, and assists with the implementation of therapeutic initiatives.
- Coordinates all clinical pharmacy functions within the department and promotes staff pharmacist participation in drug quality surveillance.
- Assures the provision of high-quality teaching and learning opportunities for patients.
Operations & Inventory Management
- Responsible for maintaining safe medication dispensing practices.
- Demonstrates excellent working knowledge of 340B program protocols and develops strategies to ensure strict adherence to 340B guidelines.
- Consistently completes internal audits, compiles audit reports, and maintains highly organized files.
- Operates the pharmacy POS and inventory software, troubleshoots inventory discrepancies, and maintains accurate change documentation.
- Collaborates with the billing coordinator to re-submit corrected electronic and paper pharmacy claims.
Leadership & Staff Supervision
- Oversees the day-to-day supervision and scheduling of pharmacy support staff, including Technicians, Cashiers, and Drivers.
- Fosters a collaborative working environment, ensures appropriate cross-training, and creates future leaders through active mentoring.
- Assists management with completing staff performance appraisals and effectively addresses employee relations issues in partnership with HR.
- Works collaboratively with Center Medical Directors, Nurse Managers, and Office Managers to facilitate smooth center and pharmacy workflows.
Compliance, Quality, & Risk Management
- Ensures strict compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, as well as TJC (The Joint Commission) standards.
- Identifies and addresses any areas out of compliance regarding Infection Control, OSHA guidelines, and Environment of Care standards.
- Correctly applies and teaches principles of risk management while effectively documenting medication errors.
- Participates in cost containment, provides budgetary input to leadership, and manages resources to maintain budgeted script volumes.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy experience.
- Preferred: Completion of an Ambulatory Care Residency.
Licensure & Certifications
- Required: Valid State Board of Pharmacy Licensure and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Certification.
- Preferred: Immunization Certification and CPR Certification.

- Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and fractions across all units of measure.
- Reasoning Ability: Expert problem-solving skills; ability to analyze multiple factors, conflicting information, and abstract variables to draw valid conclusions.
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to draft professional correspondence, present to groups, and de-escalate sensitive customer situations.
- Technology: Advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and specific pharmacy information systems.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical Activity: Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and keyboard data entry. Must occasionally lift or move items between 25–50 lbs.
- Workplace Dynamics: High-volume environment requiring a high degree of resilience, the ability to react well under pressure, and a strong commitment to diversity and a harassment-free workplace.
- Occupational Exposures: Potential frequent exposure to hazardous medications, needles/sharp objects, and potential for physical assault. Routine handling of contaminated equipment or cleaning of contaminated surfaces may be required.
