Location: New Haven, IN (100% Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday | On-Call Required for After-Hours Injury Management

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually Bonus Potential Based on ROA Performance


We're seeking a compassionate and proactive Occupational Health Nurse (RN) to join our team in New Haven, Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about employee health, workplace safety, injury prevention, and wellness. You'll play a vital role in supporting a safe and healthy work environment while partnering closely with leadership and Safety Coordinators to improve employee wellbeing and reduce workplace risks.


Position Overview

As the Occupational Health Nurse, you'll oversee the daily operations of the onsite health clinic, provide first aid and medical care for workplace injuries, coordinate workers' compensation case management, and administer employee health and wellness programs. This role combines direct patient care with education, compliance, and injury prevention initiatives to help create a safer workplace.


Responsibilities

Employee Health & Clinical Care

  • Evaluate and treat onsite workplace injuries and illnesses, referring employees for outside medical care when appropriate.
  • Provide case management for injured employees and coordinate return-to-work plans.
  • Perform employee medical surveillance, including audiograms, spirometry, vision screenings, lead testing, and other occupational health assessments.
  • Conduct pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings and coordinate required medical examinations.
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant employee health records and documentation.

Workplace Safety & Compliance

  • Administer the company's Drug and Alcohol Program in accordance with company policies.
  • Participate in ergonomic assessments and job hazard analyses to identify and reduce workplace risks.
  • Partner with Safety Coordinators to recognize hazards, prevent injuries, and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Provide guidance regarding Workers' Compensation claims and assist with FMLA administration.
  • Monitor occupational health metrics and support initiatives that improve employee health outcomes.

Education & Training

  • Train employees in First Aid, CPR/AED, and Medical Response procedures.
  • Conduct OSHA-required training on Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, Heat Stress, Workplace Violence, and other occupational health topics.
  • Promote employee wellness initiatives designed to reduce health risks and improve overall workforce wellbeing.

Program & Clinic Management

  • Manage clinic inventory and purchase medical supplies for the onsite first aid clinic.
  • Develop and manage the occupational health budget.
  • Track key health metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives that align with organizational goals.


Required:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital or clinic nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for workplace injury management.
  • Candidates cannot be related by blood or marriage (or similar relationship) to a current employee at the worksite, in accordance with company policy.

Preferred:

  • Occupational Health nursing experience.
  • Emergency Room (ER) or Urgent Care experience.
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation case management, OSHA compliance, and employee wellness programs.

Compensation & Benefits
