About the Role: Seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Technician. This position requires preparing patients and endoscopy suites, assisting physicians during procedures, and handling patient specimens.

Type: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Location: On-site in Troy, MI \

Shift: Monday - Friday (Preferred schedule is 10-hour shifts; 8-hour shifts negotiable. Depending on scheduled cases, earliest start 6:15 AM, latest end 5:30 PM)

Pay: $17/hr-24/hr

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience working collaboratively in an endoscopy suite or surgical setting assisting physicians with procedures.

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturer instructions for cleaning, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, sterile processes, PPE standards, and universal safety precautions.

• Communication Skills: Ability to accurately complete laboratory and culture/path slips, legibly document performance, and report patient changes.

• Professional Demeanor: Demonstrates an attitude that is caring, respectful, sensitive, tactful, compassionate, empathetic, and tolerant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing patients for designated procedures as requested by the physician and assist physicians during endoscopy procedures.

• Handle patient specimens per policy and accurately complete laboratory and culture/path slips as requested.

• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite, including assembling properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments.

• Ensure high level disinfection and sterility of instruments by following manufacturer instructions and facility policies for cleaning and terminal room cleaning.

• Report observed changes in patient condition to the Endoscopy/Recovery Room nurse and restock supplies appropriately after procedures.

• Assist with maintaining adequate supply inventory and proactively participate in QAPI and Safety Programs while maintaining a safe environment.

• Adhere to the Code of Conduct, observe universal precautions, wear appropriate PPE, and practice proper aseptic techniques.

• Perform regular and predictable attendance, promote patient and physician satisfaction, and complete other duties or required education as assigned.
