What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Medix?
Job Description:
- Check equipment is functioning (i.e. Camera, light source, etc.) Prior to first daily case.
- Set up procedure room(s) according to daily schedule.
- Make sure suction set-ups are clean at the start and end of each day in procedure rooms.
- Run autoclave spore test on first business day of the week at each site.
- Do weekly and monthly autoclave maintenance and document in appropriate binder.
- Check functioning of Gus Vapor System daily. Change filter every 6 months.
- Perform a RESERT test strip daily (as necessary) and document. Change product monthly and as needed using precaution as per protocol.
- Set up procedure trays as per protocol.
- Do weekly and monthly checks and document in binder. ( Temp/Humidity, etc)
- Empty dirty laundry bags, place used bags in Bin and replace with a clean bag at the end of each day.
- Organize procedure room at the end of each day.
- Restock cabinets and carts daily (as needed).
- Assist Medical Secretary with tasks when needed.
- Assist nurses with duties covered under scope of practice (admit patient, check blood sugars, vital signs, charts)
- Order supplies
- Stock kitchen supplies and assess need to order supplies.
- Stock all Toilet paper, towels and soap in all areas if needed.
- Put deliveries away and give signed allocated Packing slips or corporate.
- Check discs weekly
Schedule/ Shift:
- Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm
