Job Description
We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join an outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment clinic. This role focuses on medication dispensing, patient verification, and ongoing support for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule and a structured clinical environment.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
- Provide direct nursing support within the clinic's medication dispensary, serving a high-volume outpatient population of approximately 115-120 patients per day
- Safely prepare and dispense Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) medications, including Methadone and Buprenorphine, using electronic dispensing and pump systems
- Verify patient identity and eligibility prior to medication administration to ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Conduct patient check-ins and maintain an efficient, organized workflow while supporting up to approximately 80 patient interactions per shift
- Perform basic nursing assessments and patient observations as needed, reporting any concerns to the clinical team
- Accurately document medication administration, patient interactions, and assessments in accordance with clinic policies and state/federal regulations
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary staff to support continuity of care and ensure a safe, supportive treatment environment
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:
- Active and current California nursing or technical license (RN, LVN, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician) with valid CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications.
- Valid driver's license in good standing and insurability through the organization's carrier, as the position requires regular driving for work purposes.
Schedule/ Shift: Monday - Friday 5am - 130pm / on call as needed
