Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Clinical Support:
- Room patients, obtain medical histories, and document in EMR
- Monitor vital signs and assess or triage patient concerns
- Perform routine lab work, including venipuncture and specimen processing
- Communicate lab results and ensure appropriate follow-up care
- Assist clinicians during exams and procedures as needed
- Patient Education & Advocacy:
- Provide factual, unbiased education on reproductive health and birth control options
- Educate patients on all FDA-approved contraceptive methods
- Offer non-directive counseling on pregnancy options, including abortion services
- Support patients with education tailored to their individual needs
- Clinic Operations:
- Manage and maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system
- Assist with inventory control, stocking, and ordering of medical and contraceptive supplies
- Support clinic workflow and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient operations
- Participate in onboarding and cross-training of staff
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and mandated reporting laws
- Assist with procedures, recovery monitoring, and additional clinical duties within scope
- Travel to support other clinic locations as needed
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant:
- Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma or Associate degree, OR
- Current EMT/Paramedic licensure, OR
- 6 months of relevant healthcare experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Active LPN license in Nebraska
- Current BLS certification
- Up-to-date immunization records (Hepatitis B, MMR, TB test within 12 months)
