Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support the kitchen team by preparing ingredients for menu items in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, food prep areas, and storage spaces throughout shifts.
- Follow safety protocols in food handling, storage, and production to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Aid in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Assist with catering setups and serving when needed, ensuring all food safety regulations are met.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry with a focus on kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food handling procedures.
- Skills in culinary tasks such as knife handling, slicing techniques, and meal preparation are preferred.
- Understanding of food safety management practices to maintain high-quality standards during all phases of food production.
- Prior experience supporting catering or serving functions is a plus.
