Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a calming and reassuring environment.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including mobility, manual handling, and transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods.
- Monitor vital signs and observe for changes in patient condition, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff.
- Facilitate communication between patients and medical teams by relaying questions or concerns accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Assist with medical documentation related to patient interactions and observations within electronic health records (EHR).
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals or clinics, with exposure to inpatient or outpatient settings preferred. Specific experience that enhances your candidacy includes:
- Level I or Level II trauma center experience demonstrating ability to handle high-acuity cases.
- Geriatrics or working with geriatric patients ensuring comfort and safety for older adults.
- Medical-surgical or post-acute care experience supporting diverse patient needs across various units.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR highlighting your readiness for emergency response situations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment operation, vital signs monitoring, and electronic health records management.
