Medina McKelvey LLP
Roseville, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 12/23/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/20/2026

At Medina McKelvey, we equip employers to transform legal uncertainty into stability. As a rapidly growing, full-service firm with multiple practice groups built by former Big Law attorneys with an entrepreneurial spirit, we represent clients across California and the country. But we're more than just legal professionals; we are peacemakers, providing the guidance needed to navigate the complexities of employment law with clarity and peace of mind.

We're building a team of talented individuals, from legal professionals to business service experts, who thrive on integrity, are driven to create proactive solutions, and are dedicated to genuine partnerships. Here, your contributions are valued, your growth is prioritized, and your passion for exceptional service is ignited. You'll be challenged and supported while having the opportunity to make a real impact. If you're a driven, focused professional ready to be an anchor for our clients and a vital part of our team, we invite you to explore this opportunity.

We are seeking a Data Project Manager to support long-term data analysis projects in wage and hour litigation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with real-world data, solving problems, and managing projects from start to finish.

You’ll be trained closely at the outset and, once ramped up, will own projects end-to-end—including direct client communication, data quality review, and Excel-based analysis—with minimal day-to-day oversight.

If you like structure, logic, and figuring out what’s missing (not just what’s there), you’ll fit right in.

A TYPICAL DAY AS A DATA PROJECT MANAGER MIGHT INCLUDE:

Communication with External Clients and Internal Team Members

Communication is a key component of this position. Clients who have been sued often do not understand the information that we need to effectively defend them. You will need to become very familiar with the types of analyses and data needed for those analyses that occur in a typical wage and hour class action and/or representative action case and be able to communicate those data needs to the client. This includes becoming familiar with payroll and timekeeping report exporting options and understanding the level of detail and scope of employee census, timekeeping, and payroll data needed for the analysts to complete their work. It also includes keeping team members appraised of project status and next steps.

Managing Cases As It Pertains to Data Analysis

Lawsuits typically last anywhere between 6 and 24 months. There are various stages of data asks and data analysis that need to occur in that timeline at specific intervals. Creating and maintaining that schedule is the responsibility of the Data Project Manager. This includes tracking when to ask clients for data, when to expect reports from analysts, and when to provide updates to the litigation team. Once fully trained, a Data Project Manager can expect to be managing on average 20–30 cases at a time.

Reviewing and Assessing Client-Provided Data for Completeness, Accuracy, and Usability

This includes auditing data received to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or anomalies in the data that might require follow-up with the client for additional data or clarification.

Performing Excel-Based Data Analysis to Support Wage and Hour Litigation Matters

This includes using Excel to organize, clean, and analyze payroll, timekeeping, and employee census data relevant to wage and hour litigation. The Data Project Manager will perform preliminary calculations, summaries, and data checks; identify patterns, anomalies, or gaps in the data; and help ensure that datasets are ready for analysis. This work requires logical reasoning and critical thinking to assess whether the data accurately reflects real-world work and pay practices.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Join our mission-driven team as a Data Project Manager, where you will use your expertise in Analysis and Logic to support our clients and help bring clarity, peace, and confidence to their most complex employment law challenges.

In this dynamic role, you will contribute to our commitment to proactive legal solutions and our culture rooted in peace, purpose, and people-first service. You’ll collaborate with a team of excellence-driven professionals who champion generosity, resilience, and high engagement in everything they do.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly responsive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple priorities with confidence. No two days will look the same—there is always something new to learn, explore, and solve.

As a key member of our Wage and Hour Department’s M Data team, you will play a vital role in managing data analysis projects from intake through completion, coordinating directly with clients, and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and readiness of data used in wage and hour litigation, ensuring seamless communication, preparing high-quality work product, and helping keep matters and projects moving forward with momentum.

If you enjoy meaningful work, collaborative teamwork, and being part of a people-first, excellence-focused environment, we would love to hear from you.
