Position Summary
The NMT Driver is responsible for transporting individuals with developmental disabilities to and from programs, employment, and community activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and committed to providing a positive transportation experience while maintaining compliance with all DODD and agency policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport individuals according to a daily route schedule.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document as required.
- Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage, and attendance records.
- Communicate professionally with passengers, caregivers, and staff.
- Follow all DODD transportation regulations and company policies.
- Report any incidents, delays, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep assigned vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for service.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check, drug screen, and driver’s abstract review per DODD requirements.
- Ability to complete required DODD training (first aid/CPR, MUI/UI reporting, etc.).
- Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor when working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Schedule & Hours
We are hiring for:
- Part-time drivers: 2–4 days per week.
- Full-time drivers: 5 days per week (up to 40 hours).
Most routes operate Monday–Friday during daytime hours. Limited weekend route on rotation.
