The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse provides high-quality medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient education. This role will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care delivery, and will make diagnoses, prescribe appropriately, and manage patients with chronic conditions. The APRN will also maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
This position is Part Time, 24 hours per week, and on-site.

Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to inmates while following policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.

Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, including pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions.

Maintain confidentiality of patient medical information/history, upholding HIPAA regulations and medical ethics.

Participate in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and ensure they are followed in a timely manner.

Provide on-call services as needed, including after-hours care, as directed by the facility or company requirements.

Provide leadership to nursing and healthcare staff, promoting teamwork and cooperation among medical and correctional teams.

Support staff development through guidance, mentorship, and ongoing education to promote a high standard of care.

Promote good working relationships across disciplines and departments to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards by consistently performing thorough and accurate clinical tasks.

Respect and adhere to the facility's safety, infection control, and operational policies, ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment.

Collaborate with medical and correctional staff to ensure smooth operations, resolve issues, and enhance patient care delivery.
What we Ask of YOU:

A current, valid, and unrestricted license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Board Certification in a Master's-level primary care clinical discipline, such as FNP, AGNP, or ENP.

A current and valid DEA Registration, or being willing to obtain DEA Registration.

Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility is very helpful.

Active CPR/BLS certificate required prior to start date (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
