In this vital role, you will act as the liaison between medical providers, attorneys, and patients—ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and effective coordination of all med-legal case-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for personal injury attorneys, patients, and medical staff regarding case status and documentation needs
- Manage and track lienbased cases from intake through resolution
- Prepare, review, and submit records and billing to legal representatives as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times
- Coordinate with clinical teams to gather necessary medical documentation, imaging, and treatment updates
- Communicate settlement updates, request reductions, and assist in collections related to medlegal cases
- Support patient understanding of the legalmedical process with empathy and professionalism
- 2 years of experience in medlegal case management, personal injury coordination, or legal assistant work preferred
- Knowledge of medical lien processes and PI case timelines
- Familiarity with EMRs and medical record handling (experience with AthenaHealth is a plus)
- Excellent communication, followup, and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable
