ECHO TECH-REG | RADIOLOGY | DAY SHIFT

About the Role:

The ECHO TECH-REG position at Medical West, UAB is crucial for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. This role involves performing echocardiograms and other related procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The successful candidate will ensure that all imaging is conducted with precision and in accordance with established protocols, contributing to the overall patient care experience. Additionally, the ECHO TECH-REG will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and collaborating with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and recommendations. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes through effective imaging and communication. May be required to provide on-call rotations coverage during nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Graduate of a Sonography program. 
• Registry in good standing or Registry eligible by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a clinical setting performing echocardiograms.
• Advanced certification in echocardiography or related specialties.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform echocardiograms and other cardiac imaging procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Ensure the proper functioning of echocardiography equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including imaging results and observations.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to discuss imaging findings and patient care plans.
• Educate patients on the echocardiogram process and provide support to alleviate any concerns.
