Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Client: ODRC (Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional healthcare setting. The NP will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic conditions while adhering to ODRC policies, protocols, and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient progress and intervene in the management of chronic illnesses in accordance with ODRC guidelines
- Administer vaccinations and immunizations; prescribe medications and provide treatment for acute and chronic conditions
- Perform minor procedures based on training and competency
- Conduct routine physical examinations to assess and manage chronic conditions and diagnose new health issues
- Evaluate and coordinate specialty referrals; review consultation reports and approve or disapprove recommendations
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures as needed
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on medical reclassification and non-formulary medication requests
- Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients within the scope of practice defined by the Ohio Nursing Board
- Conduct regular rounds on infirmary patients as directed
- Accurately document patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-ups in compliance with ODRC and ACA standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow clinical guidance from the CMO
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Experience in correctional healthcare or similar settings preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and secure environment
- Excellent documentation and communication skills

Compensation:
- Competitive pay (based on experience)
